Zanu-PF targets clean sweep in Mash East Cde Sekeramayi

Victor Maphosa Mashonaland East Province
Marondera Senator Cde Sydney Sekeramayi has implored Zanu-PF supporters to tighten their belts and mobilise support for the party ahead of the 2018 harmonised elections.

Speaking during a Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting held in Marondera on Sunday, Cde Sekeramayi said all the 23 constituencies in Mashonaland East province should be won by Zanu-PF.

“Yes, the party has political commissars, but in this period everyone in the party is a commissar, every one of us must tighten their belts and mobilise more support for our party and for our President,” he said. “We want all 23 constituencies to be Zanu-PF.

“Let everyone preach the word Zanu-PF because it is the people’s party and let everyone in this province vote for the people’s party. We must show opposition parties that we are indeed a strong province.”

Cde Sekeramayi said it was the duty of everyone to exercise peace before, during and after the elections.

“Let us not use force people to vote for us, we must persuade them to vote for our visionary leader. Let us focus on winning in all the constituencies,” he said.

Cde Matiza

Zanu-PF Mashonaland East provincial chairman Cde Joel Biggie Matiza said primary elections were a closed chapter and the party’s focus was on winning the coming harmonised elections.

“Primary elections are behind us. Our focus is on the coming elections which I have no doubt of winning, we want to win with wider margins, but this is achievable if all of us work hard in bringing more people to the party,” he said.

“Let us show maturity during and after the elections. Let everyone at each given moment preach Zanu-PF.”

Cde Matiza urged everyone to heed President Mnangagwa’s call to exercise peace and tolerance during and after the elections, saying if the elections were held properly, a lot of economic development processes would be unlocked and Zimbabwe would be a jewel once again.
