THE current ZIFA Northern Region Division One leadership have made a passionate plea to their affiliates to give them another term of office when they hold their elections in September.

Veteran sports administrator Willard Manyengavana, who is the board chairman, recently made the appeal in Kariba when they unveiled their partnership with petroleum dealers Ruyamuro Service Station.

The sponsors unveiled a $60 000 sponsorship package for this season.

The current board assumed office four years ago and are looking forward to continue with their work after transforming the region into a formidable league.

Manyengavana, one of the country’s best football administrators, said they were looking forward to be given another term of office as they still have unfinished business.

“I think we are all happy and being here means a lot. I know we may cross each other’s line here and there, but we believe football must benefit in whatever we do.

“I think we have been trying our best to see our league (being) run professionally and as I stand here, I hope we are all aware that we will have elections coming up soon.

“As a board, we feel that we still have something to offer to the region and after this sponsorship, and many other interesting competitions we have brought since assuming office, we need another term of office.

“We also promise you that the return, we will not sit back but continue sourcing for sponsorship,” he said.
