ZBCTV’s “Music Request” presenter, Tendai Chitsinde, has died.
She was 24.
Chitsinde died on Wednesday evening at Mbuya Nehanda Maternity Hospital while giving birth to her first child.
Her brother, Mr Cliff Chitsinde, said she went into labour on Monday but developed complications and was moved to the intensive care unit. A scheduled Caesarean section was called off because hospital staff felt normal delivery was possible.

On New Year’s Eve, she gave birth but the baby died soon after. After an hour, she started complaining of pain.
“We are still waiting for the post-mortem results. We suspect that her uterus raptured and she bled internally,” he said.

Oscar Pambuka, a senior presenter in the news department, described Chitsinde as a very talented and promising young woman.
Prominence Makaza added: “It is truly a sad day for all of us at ZBC to lose such a friend and workmate who was loved by all who knew her.

May her dear soul rest in eternal peace.”
She was born in 1989 and grew up in Queensdale, Harare. Chitsinde attended Nettleton Primary School and Trust Academy.
Mr Chitsinde said his sister  would be buried at their rural home in Mvurwi.
