PREPARATIONS for this year’s Zanu-PF Annual People’s Conference in Goromonzi, Mashonaland East, are well on course.

Mashonaland East provincial chairman Cde Biggie Matiza said they were expecting preparations to be complete by the second week of November.

“We met at the venue of the conference as the Mashonaland East leadership, which include provincial executive members, Central Committee members and Politburo members. We toured the venue as the leadership of the province. All members were satisfied with the progress made so far,” said Cde Matiza.

He added that most of the road and water infrastructure in and around the venue were being worked on.

“We are moving on well with the preparations, and what I can say is that we have covered a lot of ground. We expect to complete the exercise on the second week of November.

“The road markings are being done, and the Chinyika Road is being worked on.

“I am happy with what is happening on the ground, and I am encouraging stakeholders to up their game. We are targeting to have completed all the major works by October 30. The progress on the ground is currently encouraging. As a party, we are moving in the right direction,” he said.

Goromonzi District was recently chosen as the host after Seke failed to provide a venue big enough to accommodate a large number of delegates.
