He will be buried at Nyandoro farm in Vhunjere, Matenganyika in Gutu tomorrow.
Zanu-PF Politburo member Cde Dzikamai Mavhaire last night said Masvingo Province had written to the party’s secretary for administration Cde Didymus Mutasa requesting for Cde Nyandoro to be conferred with provincial hero status.

“Cde Nyandoro was conferred with provincial hero status and he will be buried on Thursday in Vhunjere, Matenganyika in Gutu,” said Cde Mavhaire.
“We have received a letter from Cde (Didymus) Mutasa informing us that the request was accepted and Cde Nyandoro has been declared a provincial hero.”

He said since Cde Nyandoro was declared provincial hero, his funeral would be state-assisted. It will no longer be party business.
Yesterday, a family spokesperson Ronald Nyandoro described the late educationist as a brave and caring man.

Cde Nyandoro, he said, had assisted many people both in education and politics.
Air Marshal Henry Muchena lauded Cde Nyandoro saying he played a major role in assisting guerillas during the liberation struggle.

He said the history of the liberation struggle in Gutu cannot be complete without mentioning Cde Nyandoro’s name.
Air Marshal Muchena (Retired) said Cde Nyandoro was instrumental in assisting injured comrades during the liberation struggle.
His son Dr Munyaradzi Nyandoro said there would be a church service to honour his father at the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe at Mpandawana in Gutu today.
