A senior Zimbabwe Electoral Commission official said the commission was still compiling statistics of those who had visited the registration centre for this week. “We are in the process of compiling the statistics of those who registered for the first time, those who are inspecting the roll as well as those changing their citizenship,” said the official. “So, we will release them to you by end of this week.”

The mobile centres at Mai Musodzi Hall in Mbare and Huruyadzo Shopping Centre in Chitungwiza continued to top numbers as there was a large turnout. There were meandering queues as people waited patiently for their turn to inspect the voters’ roll, register as voters or change their citizenship status.

Those who spoke to The Herald commended ZEC for the exercise.
“There is a long queue here, but it is moving fast. The officials are attending to us efficiently and there are no complaints,” a man queueing at Mai Musodzi Hall said.
