“We have received more drugs so that people can be treated for free. Some partners visited the area yesterday (Wednesday) to see what sort of assistance they can render,” said a source who was part of the tour.

Typhoid cases were recorded in two villages in the Bhashungwe area, about nine kilometres from Chidamoyo Christian Hospital.

The outbreak resulted in 11 pupils from both Bhashungwe primary and secondary schools being hospitalised, with some of them yet to report for the first school term.
