ZANU-PF will on October 26 hold elections to choose provincial executive committees, paving way for the holding of provincial inter-district conferences in November.
In a statement yesterday, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha, who is the director in the party’s commissariat department said district executive membership registers that were used in the June 2013 party primary elections would constitute the voters roll.

“The Zanu-PF national political commissar Cde Webster Shamu has announced dates for holding provincial elections to choose members of the party’s provincial executive committees.

“All district executive members and senior leaders in the province are expected to cast their votes at the ward centre on October 26 to elect the chairpersons of the main, women and youth wings including provincial leaders from each constituency to ensure equitable distribution of posts,” he said.

He said thereafter provinces were expected to convene provincial inter-district conferences on either November 2 this year or November 9 this year, for the purposes of electing members into their respective portfolios.

Cde Shamu said the executive membership registers that were used in the June 2013 party primary elections should constitute the voters’ roll and any district executive committees formed after June 2012 would be rejected.

“The party will continue to strengthen internal democratic processes to ensure that they are free, fair and credible,” he said.
