PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has challenged Zimbabweans to be extra cautious by avoiding unnecessary travel and gatherings during the coming Easter Holiday and adhere to World Health Organisation guidelines to avoid a spike in Covid-19 cases.

The Easter Holidays will be from April 2 to April 5, 2021

In Zimbabwe, the surge in Covid-19 infections was caused by the movement of people who travelled into and throughout the country during the festive season.

Addressing the 350th Ordinary session of the Politburo at the party Headquarters in Harare this afternoon, President Mnangagwa who is also Zanu PF First Secretary said the Covid-19 pandemic is a reality.

“As we approach the Easter Holidays, I exhort all of us to avoid unnecessary travel and gatherings. The Covid-19 is still a reality, let us therefore remain alert and keep adhering to the World Health Organisation guidelines of wearing masks, handwashing under running water or sanitisation, and also social distancing,” said the President.
