Although Africa’s most watched reality show Big Brother Africa has been postponed after a fire gutted the house, Zimbabweans can look forward to representation in and outside the house.While the name of Zimbabwe’s housemate(s) remains a matter of speculation, it has been confirmed that former housemate Vimbai Mutinhiri will co-host the show with popular Nigerian presenter IK Osakioduwa.

Mutinhiri could not be reached for comment yesterday but her inclusion at the popular show will obviously take her arts profile to another level.

She is riding high in her career as she is also set to be featured on season two of Nollywood  actor Jim Iyke’s controversial reality show “JimIyke: Unscripted”. She has also hosted a popular television show “Stargist”.

Big Brother Africa season nine is expected to start later this month to give way to the setting up of a new house.

According to a statement issued by Multichoice Zimbabwe publicist Liz Dziva, investigations are likely to establish the cause of the fire.

“M-Net and Endemol SA advise that due to a devastating fire at the Big Brother house on September 2, 2014 , Big Brother Hotshots will not launch this Sunday (September 7) as scheduled.  The cause of the fire at this stage is unknown and investigations will commence as soon as it is safe to do so,” said Dziva.

“At this stage M-Net and Endemol are urgently looking for an alternative Big Brother house in which to film the production, however as this production has highly technical infrastructure, camera and edit requirements an alternative is not immediately available.

“Every effort will be made to find a solution as quickly as possible to ensure that Africa’s biggest reality show will continue. No one was injured during the fire.”

What is the likely fate of the housemates since they had already prepared for the show and rumour mongers said there were already in camp?

Will they be kept for long without information leakage?

Some show fanatics in Ghana have already speculated that their housemate is former Miss Ghana.

Meanwhile fingers are still cross for Zimbabweans on who are the housemates on this year’s edition which is running under the theme ‘Hotshots’ of which some dubbed it as,

“It is all about Swag”.According to one of the rules and regulation of the reality show, the selected housemates are not supposed to tell anyone that there have been selected.
However, some wanna-be celebrities and musicians were busy posting on Facebook and Twitter that there are the participants.

The final and original housemates will be revealed on the new launch date to be announced soon.
