Organisers of talent show Star Brite will today hold quarter finals at Reps Theatre ahead of the third season’ grand finale that takes place from July 18-20. The show that recently held its boot camp in Sanganai Creek has since short-listed the artistes to remain with 30 singers, 10 poets and 13 dancers.

The show’s executive director, Barney Mpariwa said they were going all out in making this year’s edition one with a difference.
“We are honouring Stella Chiweshe and Dorothy Masuka in our semi and quarter finals.
“Contestants will choose the songs from the two and sing on both occasions,” he said.

Mpariwa expressed excitement and optimism on the third season saying the level of talent currently being exhibited was much higher than last year.

“I urge people to come in their numbers and witness the talent that is vast among these finalists.
“It is history in the making because we are confident that these artistes will make it as tomorrow’s super stars” he said.

The Star Brite organisers have taken an all-inclusive approach this year with the inclusion of participants from orphanages and inmates from all parts of the country.

They have also made strategic partnerships with companies in a move aimed at positively impacting on the society.
In April, the show organisers staged a week clean-up campaign in Harare’s First Street Mall.

A partnership was also forged with the City of Harare and Beta Bricks that saw First Street Mall pavements being renovated.
“Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Walter Mzembi is Star Brite’s patron this year as we strive to uplift our standards.

We have improved a number of things especially in terms of production quality.
“This is mainly because we have support from corporates and we are getting better,” said Mpariwa.
