You can tell from her many outlandish outfits that she is fearless when it comes to the world of fashion. But Rita Ora took her love for couture one step further when she sang on stage while artist Thierry Guetta pelted her spotless white dress with paint during a performance on ‘‘The Tonight Show’’ With Jimmy Fallon on Monday night.
The 23-year-old singer looked like she wanted to recreate the iconic catwalk finale of the McQueen spring/summer 1999 show, when model Shalom Harlow’s simple frock was spray painted by two robots as she stood on a rotating platform.

While singing her new track, ‘‘I Will Never Let You Down’’, artist Thierry Guetta — aka Mr Brainwash — poured five full cans of paint over the singer.

Guetta is a French street artist who lives in Los Angeles and is known for his historic and contemporary cultural pop–graffiti art.

He was the subject of Banksy’s 2010 Oscar-nominated documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop.

By the end of the song, Rita was a dripping canvas of red, pink, blue, green and yellow splatter.

Before appearing on the show, Rita had alluded to an artistic dimension to her performance by tweeting a photo of herself in a long white dress standing in front of paint cans.

She captioned the pic: ‘‘I have a surprise for #Fallon make sure you tune in and everybody take a picture of your tv and #RitaIWNLYD so I can see all your pictures!! #excitedbots. (sic)’’

After the musical display, Rita posted a photo of her stained trainers and explained that her creative routine was for charity.

‘‘@adidasoriginals @jimmyfallon this show tonight is for Charity . . . and all of you!!! #letsdance #iwillneverletyoudown #stansmithmygif.’’

Even Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon got in on the artistic action as he was pictured with paint splattered all over his face.

Fallon sent the picture to Rita with the message: ‘‘Mr. Brainwash got me good tonight.’’

The actress added her own message to the snap: ‘‘Tonight is the night @jimmyfallon #iwillneverletyoudown mrbrainwash #nyctakeover #iloveuUSABots.’

The singer is currently in New York to promote her new single ‘‘I Will Never Let You Down’’, which was released in the US on Tuesday.

She collaborated with her boyfriend Calvin Harris on her new single, and she says she finds him sexiest when in the studio.

‘‘I thought he was even more sexy when I actually saw him working in the studio,’’ she told The Sun.

‘‘We’d had this pact that we’d never work together for fear it could cause problems but quite the opposite.

She added: ‘‘I’d look at him there, so in control of everything, so creative, and just yelled, “Please turn the air-con on to make it cooler in here, as I’m seriously hot!” — dailymail
