Former South African President Cde Thabo Mbeki met President Mugabe at State House in Harare yesterday.
Sources close to the meeting say the two leaders exchanged views on various matters affecting the African continent.
Cde Mbeki was instrumental in resolving  the political crisis in Cote d’ Ivoire and is currently seized with  the conflict in South Sudan.
He also assisted in finding a solution to the challenges facing Madagascar.

President Mugabe has often praised Cde Mbeki for being a very patient man, following his mediation in inter-party dialogue that brought together Zanu-PF, MDC-T and the MDC in an inclusive Government between February 2009 and July 2013.

Zanu-PF scored a crushing victory in the harmonised elections held on July 31 last year.
The party garnered well over the two-thirds majority that makes the opposition virtually redundant  in Parliament with President Mugabe trouncing MDC-T leader Mr Morgan Tsvangirai with 61,09 percent of the vote to 33,94 percent.
