Zanu-PF National Assembly candidate for Bikita West Cde Elias Musakwa says he is confident of winning the seat and vowed to embarrass the MDC-T candidate and Dr Munyaradzi Kereke who has remained defiant despite his expulsion from the revolutionary party.Cde Musakwa, at the weekend, vowed to reclaim the seat from the MDC-T adding that he was not scared of Dr Kereke who is also contesting the Bikita West as a Zanu-PF candidate despite having been expelled from the party for insubordination.

President Mugabe, while addressing a star rally in Masvingo last week also hit out on Dr Kereke for his defiance.
“We will never accept a person who is impudent, irresponsible, disobedient, non-compliant and will want to impose himself on others. Hatidi! Tinoda vanhu vanoteerera murau. I obey the rules of the party and the rules of the country,” he said.

The seat was held by MDC-T’s Mr Heya Shoko who narrowly edged Cde Musakwa in the 2008 polls. Mr Shoko won 7 048 votes against Cde Musakwa’s 7 029. “My message is clear. There is no way Zanu-PF will not reclaim the Bikita West seat from the MDC-T come tomorrow. I have no doubt that the people of Bikita West know what they want and that is Zanu-PF.

I am not afraid of anyone because I have the support of the people. I am going to embarrass the MDC-T and (Dr) Kereke. I will win the seat,’’ he said.
