EUNICE Mashakada, widow of the late musician, Cephas Mashakada, last week graduated with a certificate in Bible Studies from the Voice of Prophecy Bible Correspondence School of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Chitungwiza.

Mai Mashakada, who is a member of the Salvation Army, said she decided to undertake the three-month course as a way of enhancing her understanding of the Bible.

“I wanted to understand the true meaning of life and also as a widow, the studies have helped in easing stress,” she said.

Mai Mashakada said the Bible studies would also help her in articulating her messages in her music.

“Studying the Bible will also further enhance my music and help in preaching the word of God through music.

“The studies are ongoing,” she said.

She hastened to add that by undertaking the studies with the Seventh Day Adventist Church, she was not renouncing her Salvation Army Church.

She added: “I am glad that today I have graduated and have donned the graduation robes which is a further step in life after having donned the wedding gown when I wedded Mashakada.”

Meanwhile, the diva said she was happy with the reception that her album “Mwari Vane Nyasha” especially the track “Mambo Jesu” which is occupying fifth place in the National FM Top 20 charts.

“The DVD of the album is coming out soon and I am glad that God has taken this far,” she said.

“Mwari Vane Nyasha” is Mai Mashakada’s third album after “Shungu Dzangu” (2012) and“Let Them Talk” (2013).

Asked how she was surviving, the diva said she was into cross-border trading.
