LONDON. — Arsenal will reportedly announce the signing of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal after the upcoming Copa America tournament.

Despite playing a key role in a season that could see Juventus win the treble, the Chilean has emerged as a real target for Arsene Wenger.

Previous reports had suggested that Arsenal had already agreed personal terms with the 28-year-old, and now DirecTV journalist Hernan Feler has gone one step further.

“After the Copa America of Chile, the arrival of Arturo Vidal in the Arsenal will be made official,” he writes. “It is fully closed. He will be companion of Alexis.”

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can seal what would be one of the signings of the summer, but Vidal could be open to a new challenge should Juventus win everything there is to win this season.

Jackson Martinez has also agreed terms with Arsenal ahead of a potential summer transfer, according to reports in Portugal.

Martinez (28) has scored 32 goals for Porto this season but has been angling for a move away – with Manchester United and Spurs linked.

However, the Jornal di Noticias newspaper suggests the Colombian is heading for Arsenal, with a “principle agreement” reached for him to sign.

The paper adds that nothing has been sorted out with Porto, but even the club’s fans are resigned to losing the player, having given him a send off at their last game of the season.

Martinez’s release clause is set at £24.8million.
