Jah Prayzah will celebrate his birthday with fans tomorrow at One Big Party. The musician, who has been kept busy by studio time, particularly his upcoming album and collaborations with other African stars, has become scarce.

His live shows in the capital have been reduced to once a month or so, and they are mostly big concerts or family shows. However, tomorrow Jah Prayzah will take time to perform for his legion of fans as part of his birthday celebrations at the One Big Party at Alex Sports Club. The show starts in afternoon.

Tariro Mapfumo, the organiser of the growing One Big Party concept, said Jah Prayzah, who has featured at numerous One Big Party events before was actually going to perform with a full band at the event.

“He has featured previously but on Saturday he is coming out in full force as part of his birthday celebrations,” said Mapfumo, adding, “He is not having many shows these days in the capital, rather in Zimbabwe. So this is one of the rare shows for his fans that had gotten used to seeing him perform every other weekend.”

Real name Mukudzeyi Mukombe, Jah Prayzah was born on July 4, 1987. In line with his tradition, which saw him stage massive birthday gigs before – he is taking his special event to a bigger stage.

After tomorrow’s show, Jah Prayzah’s other public show in Zimbabwe will be on August 26 when he shares the stage with Beenie Man and Winky D in the capital.
