Chipanga said he was expecting to launch the church on October 15 at the Dangamvura Beit Hall.

The Vaparidzi Veshoko frontman, who, at one time openly expressed his willingness to contest the presidential elections as an independent candidate, said he wanted to create “God’s Kingdom as well as heavenly peace on earth”.
“I was in Sheba, Penhalonga, on September 13, 1977, when I received this calling. I had to pay attention to what God was saying to me. I received so many revelations and I could not ignore them. I encountered a series of challenges as I tried to establish my church.

After 1980, a certain musical band, Livestock Band, invited me to join their group. They realised I that I was God-sent. My lyrics are prophetic and my songs are not just ordinary songs. I am supernatural. God sent me with a solution to all problems including diseases,” said Chipanga.

“I don’t plan to have a church building for Mapipi, but it is just the kingdom that I would build.
“I will be the comforter and will fight against the devil who is now the mastermind of all human ideologies. John 16 verse 1 is always my inspiration,” said the father of five.

Chipanga is now back in Mutare after spending more than four years in Chitungwiza.
Asked to comment on his alleged extra-marital affairs, the “God-sent” Chipanga said: “I am not an angel. We all make mistakes. No one is perfect. But I believe everything was just blown out of proportion.”
