Zim’s got talent

Matemachano – proved that local fashion industry is not legging behind as far as world trends are concerned.
The breathtaking afternoon show drew fashionistas and buyers in Harare as well as modelling agencies from as far as Bulawayo. Caileigh’s garments are classic designs inspired by life and she loves colours and prints.

Her fabrics are mostly from South Africa although at times she also uses Zimbabwean materials.
In a four-part series, Caileigh, showcased some of her amazing designs by top models including former Miss Zimbabwe Samantha Tshuma, Jesuina Januario, Dananai Chipunza (most promising teen) and Rutendo Muchinguri among others.

Another designer at the fashion show was Rumbidzai, who enjoys fusing culture and fabrics in creating a wholly Zimbabwean product.
She says Zimbabwe, of late, does not have its own identity in fashion and her goal was to create an identity through using local fabrics and prints.

The models dressed in Rutendo’s garments showcased – “Rungano Rwedu” – an exhibition which is essentially a journey through Zimbabwean fashion trends.
Upcoming neo-soul singer Payersoul was the emcee while Pure Wood entertained the guests with his acoustic music.
The fashion weekend was organised by Mnandi Event Management in conjunction with Model Management Agency.
