Zimbabweans from all walks of life are geared up for the long weekend that has been set aside to pay tribute to the country’s heroes who sacrificed their lives to liberate the countryThe gallant sons and daughters who died for the country have left a deep wound in our hearts. The best way to commemorate them is to thank them for their bravery that left Zimbabweans enjoying the pleasures of their country. August has always been a special month for Zimbabweans as they celebrate the bravery expressed by the gallant sons and daughters of the soil.

This is a special holiday for Zimbabweans and we preview how they intend to celebrate the holiday.

On Heroes’ day I will be going to visit my family and spend  the special holiday with them.

Yolanda, Miss USA/Zim: On Heroes Day I will definitely have a small braai with fellow Zimbabweans here, I take time to appreciate and commemorate all the heroes that fought for us. Hopefully I can manage to go talk to a high school and be their African history lesson that day so I can tell them about Zimbabwe history.

Jah Prayzah: It’s a busy holiday for me so I believe I should share most of the time with my fans around the country. Tonight (yesterday) I  will be  having  a show in Budiriro, tomorrow I will be in Gweru, Sunday I will be in Mutare, Monday in Dandaro then on defence forces day I will at the National Sports Stadium. As a celebrity I believe  I should make their heroes a memorable one so I will be performing the whole holiday just to make fun for them.

Adby Znzorz, designer: This holiday I am definitely attending the cricket match between Zimbabwe and South Africa, that’s the major highlight and we will be Team Zimbabwe all the way.

Cindy: I am out of the country right now but if I am back in time I will be spending time with my family and friends. But I believe this is a day to remember because I enjoy the comfort of my  country because of them. So it should be a priority to celebrate heroes, it’s unfortunate I am out of the country but if I am back on time I will celebrate with others.

Pah Chihera: On Heroes Day I will be doing shows here in UK because that’s where I am right now, definitely lots of Zimbabweans will be coming. Will celebrate heroes here with the Zimbabweans in the UK.

Tehn Diamond: I am going to be catching up with all my busy friends for a change, we will be having a nice quiet braai. It’s also looking like I am going to be taking my little brother to a movie, now that he’s back from school and ready to be entertained. I can’t wait.
