Zanu-PF Mashonaland West provincial Youth League leadership has urged youths to be disciplined and remain a united front ahead of next year’s harmonised elections. Addressing the first inter-district meeting in Zvimba yesterday, the provincial chairperson Cde Vengai Musengi urged youths to be united and orderly.

“Let’s remain united and shun all forms of hooliganism ahead of 2018 elections. Our participation in these elections is key, so let us all register to vote,” he said.

Cde Musengi said the province was going to elect the new district leadership after next year’s elections, attracting cheers and ululation from Zvimba administration leadership that attended the interface meeting. He said repentant figures were going to be allowed to retrace their footsteps back into the revolutionary party.

“Some people can be traced back from Gamatox, G40, but that does not matter in the new era under the leadership of President Mnangagwa. What binds us together now is that we are all Zanu-PF cadres,” said Cde Musengi.

Cde Musengi said youths were supposed to benefit from Government and party initiatives.

“I know as youths we failed to benefit from various party and Government programmes due to fights that were prevailing in the party, do not despair, as your leadership we will fight thick and thin to make sure that those anomalies are rectified,” he said.

“Feel free to approach us. We are there to diligently serve you. If you identify a piece of land for agricultural purpose, we will assist you to even meet with minister Retired Air Chief Marshal Cde Perrance Shiri.”

The Youth League provincial political commissar, Cde Tapiwa Chitate said youths were fully rallying behind the candidature of the party’s First Secretary Cde Mnangagwa as the face of the party in next year’s elections.

“Following the effected Congress resolutions that President Mnangagwa is the party’s presidential candidate we are pledging our full support towards him and the party at large,” he said.

Provincial Youth League secretary for administration, Cde Ability Gandawa, urged youths to take advantage of the extended Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) blitz to register to vote.
