Zanu PF youths in Burundi Cde Chirau

A four-member Zanu PF Youth League delegation is in Burundi to attend the 5th edition of the Imbonerakure Day.

The youth league is in Burundi at the invitation of the ruling National Council for the Defence of Democracy Forces for the Defence of Democracy (CNDD-FDD) party.

The  Imbonerakure refers to the youth league of Burundi’s ruling party.

Acting deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs Cde Tendai Chirau is leading the delegation and is accompanied by the league’s Secretary for Finance Cde Getrude Mutandi, Secretary for External Affairs Cde Sibongile Sibanda and director for Youth Affairs Cde Blessed Ziome.

Cde Chirau said they were in Burundi to attend the youth league conference for ruling parties in Africa hosted by the CNDD-FDD party’s youth league. “It’s a meeting of young people of the ruling parties in Africa.  We hope that this invite by the Imbonerakure Youth league is going to make sure that we continuously network and we cross pollinate ideas that transform the lives of young people in terms of the economic empowerment. 

“Sometimes we have to share notes and learn from each other as colleagues,” said Cde Chirau.

The 5th edition is being held under the theme “Together for a radiant, prosperous and hopeful Africa” and runs from the 24 to the 28 August.

Ruling political parties’ youth league wings from countries such as DRC, Congo Brazzaville, Chad, Namibia among others are in attendance.

The Secretary general for the CNDD-FDD Cde Reverien Ndikuriyo will preside over the conference.
