Tuku Music company will celebrate Olver Mtukudzi’s 40 years in the music industry and the achievements he has made since venturing into music in 1975.

The celebration comes in form of a show at Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton on December 5.

Several artistes including South African musician Ringo Madlingozi are billed to perform at the event.

Local artistes Jah Prayzah, Suluman Chimbetu Munya Mataruse, Diva Mafunga, Donald Kanyuchi, Sebastian Magacha and Chiedza Chevatendi will be part of the celebrations.

According to the organisers of the event, Pakare Paye Arts Centre is one of the achievements of the musician that will be used by generations to champion their artistic prowess.

Taka Mashonganyika who is part of the organising team said their reason to choose the place as the venue of the event also meant celebrating one of the big achievements.

“Pakare Paye Arts Centre is one of the places that has groomed several arts personalities and that is one achievement that was made by the superstar himself. We have artistes who have worked with Mtukudzi on their projects and they have already confirmed their participation at the event,” said Mashonganyika.

The legend has been in the music industry since 1975 and his music has received the love of many fans the world over.

The show is expected to attract hordes of fans from all over Zimbabwe who will be there to witness and celebrate the success of his works.

With 63 albums to his name the musician has toured many countries and has been endorsed by several companies as their brand ambassador.

Apart from the music, Tuku is also recognised as an entrepreneur who has managed to build a fashion label in clothing and shoes industries.

Being a music icon, Tuku has managed to uplift the lives of many established and upcoming artistes in the music industry.

He has won many awards including recognition from world bodies, collaborated with musicians within and outside Zimbabwe and made a mark on the movie industry.

Tickets will be going for $10 and for those who would have travelled far accommodation will be available.
