Who is hot and who is not? This is perhaps the nagging question for those that are into Zimdancehall music, but look no further as Sting 2014 gets underway tomorrow at the City Sports Centre, the ceremonial home of dancehall clashes.

Featuring the best of the best in dancehall, the contest has all the makings of a thriller with every artistes on the bill threatening to “tear apart” their rivals.

Much more than a clash, Sting 2014 provides a platform for artistes to sharpen their skills on stage and whoever spits the most punchlines wins the title.

The show that pits Zimdancehall acts Seh Calaz and Soul Jah Love as the main act will also see other artistes going one-on-one in a battle of the microphone. Seh Calaz reiterated that he feared no one on stage and promised to “skin” Soul Jah Love alive.

In his message ahead of Sting 2014, Seh Calaz promised to turn the City Sports Centre into an “abattoir”.

Seh Calaz also warned fans against throwing cans on stage not only at Sting 2014 but at every other show.

Seh Calaz who is the protagonist of the “Mabhanditi” is known for flawless delivery and does not fool around whenever he takes to stage.

He can change style and voice on the same riddim not once or twice but several times and still maintains the rhythm.

The two artistes hail from Mbare are perceived as arch rivals in Zimdancehall and they have always traded barbs in song.

On the other hand, Soul Jah Love who won a double at the recently held Zimbabwe Music Awards, did not mince his words saying he was ready to defend his territory.

“No to violence, no to can throwing. Regai ndipedze munhu wangu zvakanaka,” he said in an online promo video.

Soul Jah Love, known for his flawless chants where he spits punchline after punchline, says he will not be taking any prisoners at the contest come Saturday.

However, the two artistes have maintained that there is no bad blood between them as the “beef” only exists on stage.

There is also a host other artistes who will settle scores at the Sting. Lady Squanda will go head-to-head with Lady B while Badman will square-off with Jiggaz. Apparently, Quonfuzed was mulling pulling out of the contest saying he was put up against Terminator. He argued that the two were from different worlds with him being more of lovers/reggae while Terminator is “hardcore”. Their clash will still go ahead.

Bounty Lisa, the First Lady of Conquering Family will face off X Patriot.

There is also battle of the sounds systems whereby Mighty Ducks will compete against Fyah Links while Black Spider will take on Red Fox Family.

Godfatha Templeman and Smylie are also on the line-up
