Two stand up comedians Admire Kazhangira and Rolland Lunga widely known as Bhutisi and Boss Kedha respectively got a rude awakening at the Luciano gig on Friday at Glamis Arena after fans booed them off stage.Despite having about 26 144 likes on their Facebook page PO BOX TV fans and an equally impressive following for their Youtube uploads, the crowd at the show were seemingly not up to their jokes.

It started just as the comics got on stage.

Immediately the fans started booing and whistling. Even their popular “Mazoe” joke was not enough to convince fans when they tried to change it to suit the event.

Then they tried “Ndini Ndadaro” but the reception was even worse.

The hapless duo ended up laughing at their own jokes in a bid to get some response from the house but that did not work either.

One of the crew members identified as Aaron said he did not know the reason why the crowd resisted their efforts.

“I don’t know what could be the reason but we will try other things next time,” he said.

Some people at the show said the two should realise that there is a world of difference between social media uploads and live performances which are not private functions.

“Their skits are good and they bring new dimensions to the comedy industry but they should find a way to reach out to many Zimbabweans so that they can have their works known by people,” said an unidentified fan.

Others said that the occasion was all wrong as the music was upbeat and stopping it for jokes proved an anti-climax.

The fans suggested that comic acts be slotted for their own shows or sit-down music shows at places like 7 Arts and HICC.

With stand-up comedy fast rising in Zimbabwe the group took the industry by storm with their jokes.

Their different skits such as “Boyz dzetonaz” and “International Stuff” were enough to convince hundreds of people that there is comic talent in Zimbabwe.
