Motivational speaker and entrepreneur Uzillah Munyengeterwa-Hove is set to launch her first book titled “Gift of a Woman” on Saturday at Baraza Pavillion in Tynwald.

In an interview with Herald Arts, Hove said the book is meant to empower women to become financially independent and to take positions of influence in various sectors of our economy.

“The book title is drawn from the book of Proverbs 31. It talks about a virtuous woman who can do anything she puts her mind to. She can manufacture tailor, trade, decorate and invest while also performing duties as a wife, mother, leader and giver,” she said.

The 39-year-old businesswoman is also the founder and chief executive officer of Today’s Business Women and Today’s Kitchen and Home organisations that empower women to rise up and work for themselves.

She said the content of the book comes from her personal experiences.

“The book also carries my personal experiences that made me to become who I am and where I am today. When I got married I used to be that kind of a wife who sorely depended on my husband, but after receiving teachings from church I realised that I had to change and start doing something of my own. I started by selling sweets then upgraded to perfumes and finally kitchen ware where my major breakthrough emanated from,” said Hove.

Some of the topics unravelled in the book include  woman and her vision, diligence, business, time, family and also forgiveness.

In December last year she launched a programme called Today’s Businesswoman Development where she practically teaches women one-on-one on how to run a business. This January, she produced a magazine that captures how women have been helped to become successful.

She recently participated at the Coalition of Wives of the Presidents and Vice Presidents in Africa peace conference in Nigeria.
