High-riding afro-fusion band Mokoomba has left for yet another international tour, this time beginning their journey in North America before proceeding to Europe.

As has become norm, the group will spend the next six months on the road, starting off with shows at the Suicide Six Ski Area resort centre in Pomfret, Vermont, in the United States, this weekend.

They will then travel to Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Washington, Texas, Vancouver and California performing at different venues.

Mokoomba manager Marcus Gora said the group is ready to give a great experience to their fans.

“We so far have 13 confirmed shows in the United States and Canada starting this weekend until May 11. In Europe we have 25 confirmed shows in France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Netherlands.

“We are grateful for the continued support our fans and different stakeholders has been showing us over the years. Come in your numbers to our shows and share the Mokoomba experience,” he said.

The European leg of their tour will kick off on May 17 in France to end on September 26 in Switzerland.

In their last show a couple of weeks ago, a befitting farewell to their fans, the multi-award-winning group delivered a well-curated acoustic set at the Alliance Francaise.

Due to oversubscription, the band had to hold back-to-back sold out shows at the venue.

Hailing from Victoria Falls, Mokoomba has toured the world, spending most of their time on the road. Their albums “Rising Tide” and “Luyando” have earned them slots at prestigious venues, festivals and concerts across the globe.

One of their most celebrated accomplishments was being the third Zimbabwean group to be inducted in the Afro-fusion Hall of Fame, in tje United States,  a privilege that has only been awarded to the late music legend Dr Oliver Mtukudzi and Chimurega music guru Dr Thomas Mapfumo.
