Miss Universities beauty pageant that was on halt last year comes back with a contest that will be held at Ochi City in Domboshava tomorrow. The organisers are optimistic that the event will be bigger and better as various students from different Universities will be vying for the prestigious crown. The winner is expected to take over the reins from Valerie Chingonzo who was crowned two years ago.

About 30 students from the 10 Universities in the country will be on the ramp. One of the pageant’s committee members Linda Chibage said there is going to be glitz and glamour at the event as the models were in high spirits. “The models got in camp on Wednesday and they are all in fighting spirit to get the crown,” she said.

She said there will be a lot of entertainment from different youthful artists including Taurai Mandebvu. She could however not disclose the grant prices for the winners. “I can’t disclose that but all I can say is the beauty contest will be exiting and there will be surprises,” she said. The event kicks off at 6pm and several prominent guests have been invited.
