Usually when a foreign musician comes to Zimbabwe, local artistes take the platform to prove their prowess to bring excitement and thrills. That is likely to be the case on Saturday at Longcheng Plaza as several dancehall musicians are set to perform at Charly Black’s show.

The Jamaican artiste will be supported by Soul Jah Love, Killer T, Seh Calaz, Kinnah, and Hwindi President among others.

Artistes who spoke to this publication yesterday said they were ready to prove their prowess at the show.

Kinnah, who has just released a new album titled “Chakatyokera”, said there was a lot Zimbabwean musicians have to prove.

“This is our chance as young musicians to shine and to prove that we are able. I am happy that such a big show has come at a time when we have just released an album,” he said.

Kinnah, who is more popular in Mbare, said they have been preparing for the show in a big way.

Killer T, who is the dancehall musician of the moment, said it was good that they would have a big Heroes holiday celebration.

“That is the big day for people to come and celebrate the Heroes holiday. As for our camp we are ready to give Zimbabweans the best act,” he said.

The musician, who is riding high with his new album “Ngoma Ndaimba”, is expected to sample the best songs from his album that is gaining popularity by each passing show.

Songs such as “Chikorobho”, “Takumbofarawo” and “Ita Ndione” are fast becoming anthems in most public places.

The musician said he was happy that the album has reached people from all ages.

Soul Jah Love, through his wife and manager Bounty Lisa, said they were prepared for the show.

“We have a lot to prove to our fans and we are happy that this show will give us a platform,” she said.

Organisers of the event said they were happy that all artistes have shown their commitment to be part of the show.
