fund-raise for Art for Africa Foundation with his masterpiece titled “Last Warning”.
The piece will be among other paintings to be auctioned at Sotheby’s New York beginning on November 12 to 17, 2011.

The Chitungwiza-born Kambudzi is a well-known passionate perfectionist when it comes to fine art and his unique style of paintings shows his uninhibited skill with oil paint and brush.
The auction will also feature cutting-edge works by leading artists from Africa and the United States. Among the African artists exhibiting at the auction include Mikhael Subotzky, Mary Sibande the South African duo of Hasan and Husain Essop, Kenyan artist Peterson Kamwathi and several others.

Artists from the US who have also pledged their works include Donald Baechler, Matt Magee, Shinique Smith, Nabil Nahas and Alexander Calder.
A gala dinner will be held on October 12 in New York where the works are to be previewed ahead of the auction in November.

A similar event by the foundation in London successfully held in 2009 raised close to US$750 000.
With more than 46 exhibitions across the world, Kambudzi remains arguably one of the most prolific artists to emerge from Zimbabwe. He did his training at the BAT Visual Art Studios in Harare.

Having received the 1998 Young Artists of Promise Award of Distinction from the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, Kambudzi’s talent has been the talking point in art circles. He was also runner-up (Category 2) in the 2007 Gallery Delta Exhibition titled Peace through Unity in Diversity.
