sister will tour South Africa in November to perform in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Janet will be bringing her Janet Jackson Number Ones Up Close and Personal Tour to South Africa for three concerts.
The South African tour will follow performances in Asia, Canada, the US and Europe.
Janet will perform at the Teatro in Montecasino on November 11 and 12, and at the Grand West Casino in Cape Town on November 15.
The tour, presented by Showtime Management in association with 94.7 Highveld Stereo and 94.5 Kfm, will differ from her previous concerts in that she will be performing music exclusively from her chart-topping CD Number Ones .
Showtime Management’s Tony Feldman said: “It is a major coup to have an artist of Janet Jackson’s quality performing in such an intimate environment. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see one of the world’s greatest artistes performing all her number one hits.
“Jackson is known for her energetic performances, and on this tour fans will get to see both her trademark dance as well as her ballads with some additional surprises.”
Janet said: “These concerts are different from anything I have ever done. I will be as up-close and personal as possible. These concerts are not about special effects. This is a love affair between me and those of you who have supported me and my work for all these years.
“I’ll be singing and dancing from my heart. The music I will play will be all the songs that you’ve made number ones for me . . .”
