The Colour Run was one of the highlights of 2014

It’s a wrap folks. 2014 is officially gone and Cool Lifestyle wishes you all a dope 2015 that is filled with fun and adventure.

As we look back, 2014 was an eventful year with a lot of ground breaking stuff going down in all sectors.

Some of the events that made our year include the following highlights:

Zimbabwe Colour Run

The colour festival held on December 6 at Borrowdale race course was by far the craziest.

We joined over 8 000 people of different ages and races and went crazy, splashing ourselves with paint.

The parties afterwards were equally crazy and we can’t wait for this year’s sedition.

The only disappointing factor was that the tickets for the event were a little expensive.

Because of this, it was more of an elite event and many others were left out on the fun

The past year will also be remembered as the year we welcomed a state of the art Ster Kinekor cinema at Sam Levy’s Village in March.

Complete with the HD, 2 and 3D technology we have all come to love, the cinema joins others (Westgate & Eastgate branches).

We loved that development because it translates to more hang out joints for the teens!

Still on cinemas the Sam Levy’s Village cinema also made history this year by hosting the premier of an animated movie “Paddington” in Africa on December 18.

Zim hair show

Hair is the best source of expression for many youths and the Zimbabwe hair show that took place in November made some of us drool with envy as it reaffirmed that there is no limit to creativity

Youth Games

The Region 5 Youth Games indeed lit up the city of princes and princesses and while some of us are not super strong athletics, we were not left out in the fun in October.

The two weeks that the city hosted the games brought a pleasant atmosphere in the youth social circles. We got to hang out watching sports with other teens from regional countries

iPhone 6

We also embraced technological developments like the popular smart watches from Samsung and the iPhone six and six plus

Musical festival

The Italian music festival that took place in October and as usual children had their turn to shine in their various programs like the Battle of the School Bands

Hello KFC

Let’s be real, eating healthy is the way to go and if one wants to grow up strong and healthy they ought to stay away from fast foods.

That did not stop some of us from giving a warm Zimbabwean welcome to fast food outlet KFC in July last year! You know what they say, a little piece of fried chicken once in a while never hurt nobody.)

Carnival

The Harare international carnival exploded to life in May last year and while many enjoyed the fete, teens were mostly delighted by the teen carnival that was taking place on the sidelines. Various schools assembled their teams and took part in the colourful street party that literary shut Harare down. We were there and enjoyed every bit of it.

Too bad last year there were no prizes for the outstanding team at the teen carnival.

We hope that 2015 will be as eventful as last year if not better and we expect a fun filled year.

We wish you the best of years and my the Lord guide you in your endeavours.

Till the next episode.
