Gospel musician Sebastain Magacha is in new album dilemma with almost five months down the line without the promised project. It’s now three years since the award winner Magacha released an album and fans now think he is focusing on being a one-hit wonder while others say it is financial constraints. The musician once promised fans that the album will be out earlier this year. Now he is changing goal posts that he is still in the studio. His last album entitled Back To Sender was well received in the Christian world although he now seems to feel pressure to continue with the pace.

Is he following in the footsteps of sungura maestro Alick Macheso, just to surprise his fans with the much anticipated album, and if so, will he pull through considering that there are a lot of gospel musicians sprouting up?

Could it be a publicity stunt or delaying tactics and will that work considering most Zimbabweans now know what happens with such artistes, trying to push their album or it is financial constraints?

However, the ‘Ridza Bhosvo’ hit-maker said his new album was in two parts, the digital system then studio live work. That was another reason for delay, he said.

The ‘much-nothing a-do album’ is being produced by McDonald Chidavaenzi with the final studio edit being master-minded in South Africa.

The pint sized singer did not want to shed light on the name of the album but confirmed that it is a 13-track album.

“I don’t know what to call it yet, because it is still in the oven. I am still in the studio working on my next project and what you need to know is that Rome was not built in a day.

Yes, it took many months to release the album because music has durability and this time around we have something special as we feature some renowned gospel artistes abroad. I don’t know where you are getting information about financial constraints or that in my empire all is not well. I am going to release the album in June and you can confirm that,” he said.

Magacha said on the new album there are songs such as Amai and Ndiregerere which he said are a true inspiration of his background.

“We are all human beings and we need to ask for forgiveness and move on. It is not about my issue with my manager but a Christian song just like those in the hymn books. My heart bleeds for those I have wronged. The song Amai is a special dedication to all the mothers, what they went through. I have just finished the last five tracks and will dish them out soon,” he said.

Magacha recently sampled the songs during the Taking Gospel to Another Level where they were well received with some joining in the sing-along.

He said he would release the videos mid August.

Magacha said he was in talks with Big Fish Company in South Africa for some projects with Sipho Makabhane.
