There’s more to Nicki Minaj than the booty-shaking vixen she plays in her “Anaconda” video. That’s evident both on her new album, The Pinkprint, and in her interview for the cover of Rolling Stone, which reveals a rarely seen vulnerable side of the 32-year-old star.

Reflecting on her youth, Minaj recalled dating an older guy from Queens while she was a student at the famed performing-arts high school LaGuardia. Their relationship led to her getting pregnant, which was not part of her plan at the time.

“I thought I was going to die,” she told Rolling Stone. “I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through.”

Ultimately, the “Va Va Voom” performer decided to have an abortion. “[It] has haunted me all my life,” she admitted.

Indeed, as Us Weekly previously noted, Minaj addresses teenage abortion on one of her new songs, “All Things Go,” which debuted earlier this month. “My child with Aaron would’ve been 16 any minute,” she raps on the track.

The Grammy nominee is clearly still affected by her past, but she did what she thought was right at the time. “I wasn’t ready,” she told RS. “I didn’t have anything to offer a child.”

Not so anymore. Minaj has been open in recent years about wanting to have kids, telling Complex magazine in November that she hopes to be a mom sooner rather than later. “If I’m done with my fifth album and I don’t have a child by then, no matter how much money I have, I would be disappointed, as a woman because I feel like I was put here to be a mother,” she shared.? – Rolling Stone..
