Gasa lines up birthday celebrations Romeo Gasa

Sungura musician Romeo Gasa will celebrate his 31st birthday with a show at East Point (former Club Iridium) tomorrow.

The show will feature other musicians like Progress Chipfumo, Baba Harare, Gonyeti and Carlos Green as well as Sasha and Blessing with the Talking Guitars.

Gasa has invited musicians that he has worked with in the industry on previous assignments to grace the occasion that is likely to attract executive sungura followers.

The young musician is known for attracting big spenders to sungura shows when he performs in upmarket venues following the success of his Thursday night shows at Time and Jazz Café.

Gasa is building a special fan base for his sungura although he maintains many shows in the usual sungura strongholds such as Unifresh Club in Mbare where he performs tonight.

Both shows have a birthday theme, but the East Point affair will have more artistes.

The musician said he is happy to turn a year older and thanks God for being with him and giving him strength to soldier on in the tough music industry.

“It is not an easy journey in this industry, but we keep fighting on. More years from God mean more time to make it musically. I am happy that my brand is growing well and I want to thank people that have supported me over the year. We will keep going and our music is being received well,” he said.
