SONGSTRESS Diana Samkange tonight returns to Holiday Inn’s Harpers Lounge where she held an exciting show last week. Last week saw the musician starting her 2016 live show calendar in style when she had a full house at the venue. She hopes to have another outstanding show this year and has promised to make the venue her home.Last week she was supported by by Prince K Musarurwa.

The two artistes gave revellers a night to remember as they were in full swing with song and dance.

Speaking to The Herald, Diana said she was impressed by the turn out last week.

“The show’s turnout was one of the best as the venue was full to capacity. I am happy to begin 2016 shows on such a high note. It promises to be an exciting year and this weekend we are looking forward to a similar show,” she said.

Diana’s new manager, Blessing Chimhowa said they were currently arranging a lengthy contract to perform that would see them performing there every Friday.

“We are taking steps towards a contract that will see us performing every Friday at Holiday Inn,” he said.

Asked if all upcoming shows would be free, he said: “We’ve an agreement with Holiday Inn whereby they pay a flat fee and the audience come through for the show for free.”

Diana also spoke about change of management in her team.

“My new manager is Blessing Chimhowa. You probably know him as ‘Mbudziyadhura’ from the Gringo Series. I decided to work with him because of his vast experience in the performing arts as he is also a poet.

“After being idle as a mother, I am back doing what I love the most and that is performing. We started working together last year on a trial basis and Blessing has managed to line up two international shows that saw me performing in England. We’ll soon produce an album under his management,” she said.

Blessing is taking over Shalom Mhizha who is now venturing into new and greater opportunities, but as an artiste.

Diana added; “I will give special mention to Shalom as she is also part of the great idea of redefining who I have finally become. She worked tirelessly and played a very big role in the process of changing the brand from Diana to Mangwenya.”
