Dendera musician Suluman Chimbetu tonight shares the stage with promising afro-jazz star Prince Musarurwa at the Book Café. The venue, which has spread its wings beyond elite music to host sungura and other mass market genres, is expected to be a hive of activity as fans of different music tastes come together in a celebratory event.
While Sulu has attracted huge crowds at the venue before, Prince would be banking on his immense musical potential to win the hearts of followers.

The young musician has proved, at his previous shows at the venue, that he has what it takes to make a named in his genre.

He is well known for his supporting role on Pah Chihera’s songs including hit “Runonzi Rudo” and he features in her video.

Prince is the grandson to yesteryear music legend Augustine Musarurwa of the “Skokiaan” hit fame.

As they say, music runs in the blood and the young man would exhibit he has great talent and can take the family name to another level musically.

On the other hand, Sulu, who is also riding on a way prepared by a yesteryear musician, his father Simon, has already shown he can keep the music alive.

Sulu’s publicist, Joe “Local” Nyamungoma, said they were looking forward to the combination and hope to give audiences a lifetime experience tonight.

“Prince is a talented young man and we are happy to work with him.

We have done our groundwork for the show and fans should expect a great dendera-Afrojazz combination,” he said.

Fireworks are expected at the gig.
