In an interview with The Herald Entertainment Mega Jani real name John Madamombe who is set to perform at Luciano’s welcome gig at Red Fox tonight said the passion to put Zimbabwean flag on the international map has driven him to collaborate with these Jamaican artistes.

“Zimbabwe has a lot of talent but the problem is we do not know how to do it to make it on an international arena, so to me these collaborations I did with these artists will definitely put our flag on the international map,” he said.

The Chitungwiza-bred artiste said he did collaborations electronically.

“I am proud to have garnered these collaborations, I have learnt to work out things the hard way. I did the vocals first and later on sent them via the internet to the artistes

“They finished and produced tunes including ‘Get me Yard’ which is already playing on Radio TDK, Jon Irie in Jamaica, One Love in America and many others”, he said.

Other singles produced include “Good Body Girl” featuring Apprentice, “Loving You” featuring Tytania Gabriel Hailer and “African Princess” featuring Savanna.

Mega Jani, who was elevated to his present standing by an organisation called Hard Mashona Arts and Culture Trust reiterated that he wanted to put Zimbabwe on the spot light.

“I am a proud Zimbabwean to the borne, all these years reggae and dancehall artiste from our country have been trying to make it to the top but the quality of the music is always letting us down, I did these collaborations just to show my fellow musicians that our efforts can be appreciated as long as we continue working hard,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kiprich, whose real name is Marlon Plunkett applauded Mega Jani for his efforts saying Zimbabwean reggae artists are talented with a lot to offer.

“It is always good to merge music sometimes because it creates new energy; Mega Jani did a good job by hooking up with me. His voice on the track is in line with the concept throughout the song which was good,

“This single is a must hear and one of the maddest collabo I have done, it was produced by Kritical beats. I also did my part and sent him to listen first before we went on to record”, he said.

The historic 1984 hit maker “Under Mi Sleng Teng” said Zimbabwean music still has a lot of potential to make an impact internationally.

“Reggae family is one family and we are all on one mission with the music. I have not listened to most Zimbabwean music lately but from what I see in Mega Jani, I think it is on point, what is left is to improve quality so that it gets international recognition,” he said.
