The bodyguard-turned-actor “suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered.” Many believed that the heart attack led to the gentle giant’s death. He passed away at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre on Monday. He was 54.
His fiancee, Omarosa Stallworth, tweeted, “Thank you for your outpouring of love and support for my beloved Michael. He will truly be missed!” A representative for the “Green Mile” star added, “Celebrations of his life, both private and public, will be announced at a later date.”
Stallworth saved Duncan’s life when he suffered a heart attack in July. She gave him CPR and stayed by his side in hospital ever since. “She was literally there every second,” a source told PEOPLE. “She is a strong woman who is full of faith, but right now she is heartbroken.”
Meanwhile, Martin Lawrence has issued a statement on the death of his friend Michael Clarke Duncan . . . telling TMZ he had the privilege of working with the big man WAY before MCD became an actor.
Lawrence tells us: “From the days of him doing security on the “Martin” show, to us working together on “Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins”, “I enjoyed working with him.  He will be missed.” Martin adds: “My condolences go out to his family and loved ones.”
FYI: Duncan was a bigtime private security guard in Hollywood before he made it big as an actor . . . working for stars like Will Smith, LL Cool J, Jamie Foxx and Christopher Wallace (aka Biggie Smalls). — AceShowbiz.com-TMZ
