South Africa-based gospel musician Rev Togarepi Chivaviro of the “Ebenezer-Tirimunyasha” fame has engaged several musicians for a tour dubbed Ebenezer Festive Season tour.

Chivaviro said he has engaged musicians that include Noel Zembe, Kudzi Nyakudya, Baba Manyeruke , Rumbi Zvirikuzhe, Trymore Bande, Tatenda Mahachi and Gamu Magadzire .

The tour that will begin tomorrow in Bulawayo will see the musician performing in Kwekwe and Gokwe before moving on to places like Shamva, Mvuma, Rusape, Karoi and Marondera.

“We are not in the country most of the time, and the whole nation has positively accepted our song. As a result we thought of taking leave from our hectic ministerial programme to come home and meet our fans who have supported us throughout the year,” he said.

Though there are several outstanding songs like Blessing Shumba’s “Chimwe neChimwe” that has topped the charts throughout the year, “Ebennezer” has managed to win the hearts of many music lovers.

Chivaviro is optimistic that people will come in their numbers for the shows.

“We have done it in the diaspora and the response has been overwhelming, we have done shows in the UK, Botswana and South Africa with full house attendances. People are just loves this song,” he said.

In addition to the general tour, the musician will be holding free worship evenings in some towns.

“A lot of people know the music from the album but they don’t know the artist. We will also take around with us some of our original merchandise like DVDs, CDs , caps t-shirts etc, in the process engaging and educating people on the dangers of piracy,” he said.
