Gospel musician Jonah Chivasa is celebrating a  double delight after dropping his single “Fevha” yesterday on social media which has received an overwhelming response from fans.

Secondly, Chivasa who last weekend paid lobola to his long-time sweetheart gospel songstress and businesswoman Rachel Jambaya (Rachel J) in Bindura, said he chose to name the “Fevha” because of a turn around in his life.

“Fevha” which is lingo for the word “favour” in English meaning an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual.

The song’s colourful video was shot and directed by Simba Gee Visuals and new wife Rachel J, while Spirit Fingers produced the song.

Surprisingly it also features Rachel J as the video vixen dressed in a colourful outfits chilling by the swimming pool area.

In an interview, Chivasa who made a name with hit song “Ndozvinoita Nyasha” featuring Chelsea, said the songs speaks about grace.

“I chose to name the song ‘Fevha’, because I am now at a point in my life where I realised that God can favour you regardless of your background. You see grace is for everyone, but favour is only for those who God willingly choose,s” he said.

Chivasa said the song was inspired by his personal life.

“God has been good to me. I can say 2021 was a blessing. I look at it is a double delight, with my video coming out, and last week I paid the bride price to the woman I love. It is a new me. I am so happy and this is just the beginning,” noted the singer.

Asked how much paid as lobola last weekend, Chivasa said even though people now know that he is married toRachel J, his love life still remained private.

“Yes, I am musician and a celebrity as some might say. My lobola settings should remain private and we agreed as family to that. People can have all the other information, but our love life should be respected.

‘‘We have ended the speculation and this is true. We love each other and our families respect that.”

Chivasa said he chose to drop single after single because the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the music industry.

“The pandemic only limited me with regards to live audiences. I have released singles instead of albums because it worked better for me. I would rather maximise my artistry on one song at a time. I already have more international collaborations which have been finalised but I prefer to give fans the element of surprise,” he said.
