ZIMBABWE Women’s Football board member Cecilia Gambe has admitted that all is not well ahead of the Mighty Warriors’ Olympic Games qualifier against Zambia on Sunday at Rufaro.Zimbabwe host Zambia, who are carrying a 2-1 lead, at Rufaro on Sunday.

However, by yesterday the ZIFA leadership were still running around to raise funds for the game and were at PHD Ministries with their begging bowl.

Gambe said they need at least $21 000 to cater for all expenses for Sunday’s game.

Zambia will settle their accommodation and food bills.

“Right now we are working from a zero budget; we don’t know where we will get the allowances for the girls. We need to boost the girls’ morale by, at least, giving them something, but for now the players are playing for the pride of the nation.

“We are financially crippled; we are in the intensive care unit. So things are not well.

“Of course, they were paid their allowances when they played Ghana when we got some money From Prophet (Walter) Magaya and Freda Rebecca.

“But they have backdated allowances and we are looking still at that.

“We had a budget of $36 000 for all the expenses, but we had to cut down our budget to $21 000 and also had to cut on some of the things we need for the game against Zambia.”

Zambia are expected in the country today.
