Zwambila submits report to Foreign Affairs ministry

Ambassador Bimha confirmed the meeting at his Munhumutapa Offices, but could not divulge the report’s contents.

He said: “We are going to study the report and I cannot say what is it that is contained in the report because we are still studying it.”

He said the Zimbabwean envoy would remain in the country until she meets Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, who is in Libya for the Africa-European Union Summit.

It is understood that the three male embassy officials involved in the matter will also submit their reports to the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The four reports will form the basis of whatever action — if any — is to be recommended to President Mugabe.

Government sources said if found guilty of gross misconduct, Ambassador Zwambila risks losing her post.

In that case, her MDC-T party will be asked to no-minate another candidate acceptable to the President for that posting.

Ambassador Zwambila on November 11 allegedly stripped to her undergarments in front of three embassy officials — Mr Felix Nyamupinga, Mr Moses Chikanyairo and Mr Givemore T. Nyanzou — after accusing them of leaking information to the media

It is alleged that she demanded to know who had leaked the information to The Herald on an embassy website link that was targeted at Western audiences.

The website carried stories claiming there were no sanctions on Zimbabwe.

The website (www.katheti.com/zimembassy) is no longer accessible since the publication of the story.-The Herald
