Zimbabwe-born singer and songwriter, Fortune Ruzvidzo (above) this week made a strong entrance into the Australian gospel industry with the grandeur single “Salvation, Glory and Power”.

The uniquely arranged worship song, whose lyrics are pulled from a Bible scripture in Revelations 19, is her maiden recording.

The song is giving gospel lovers a fresh lease of life, with all CDs sold out in Brisbane, Australia barely a week after the launch. This has been followed by rave reviews on online platforms where the song is selling.

She describes the song as a heavenly proclamation and the devout Christian says the ”sweet Holy Spirit breathed this song into me”.

“I was going through the book of revelation and this song came to me,” she said.

The song is selling on online platforms including iTunes.

Ruzvidzo said her mission is to spread spirit-filled worship music to the ends of the world.

“I would like to bring a new sound. A sound that doesn’t leave people thinking ‘oh that’s good music’, but a sound that leaves people in awe of God’s love and grace, a sound that draws people to that secret place of worship and mostly a sound that changes people inside out,” Ruzvidzo said.

The Lupane-born muso is working on her maiden full album and intends to launch it next year.

She grew up in Bulawayo and moved to Australia with her family at the age of 15.

To date, she has written 30 songs some of which will go into her album. Prior to the release of the single, she had made inroads into Australia’s gospel scene after singing the lead role in Brisbane City Gospel Choir’s latest single Melody.
