It is indeed back to business for Afro fusion band Africa Revenge made up of Willis Wataffi and Mehluli “Taz” Moyo but Wataffi is not giving up his seperate band because of the union. The duo continue to stage sold out shows since officially reuniting last month with the latest being at Misty’s show on Friday and another in Hatfield with Sulumani Chimbetu yesterday.

Wataffi is not ready to dissolve his band that he said has helped in growing his brand and various businesses that has sustained him over the years.
“I have worked so hard over the last eight years (since the split) to make the brand Willis Wataffi what it is today. The band has earned me multiple awards, world tours and film gigs. It helped to grow the brand that gave birth to a clothing label Qaya Wear, ambassadorial roles (being the brand ambassador for Miller South Africa and has endorsed various companies like Econet and Barclays).

“I can’t throw all that away because of the return of Africa Revenge. Instead, the band and the brand will run parallel with Africa Revenge. I am giving Africa Revenge most of my effort and we will continue to make music and stage live shows. I am a father and live off the work so I could not kill it even if I wanted to,” he said.

Wataffi cited the case of Bongo Muffin’s Thandiswa Mazwai who he said is managing a solo career while staying committed to the band Bongo Muffin He said the duo was devoted to rebuilding their group while sustaining their separate careers.
