He has been on an international tour that saw him visiting various cities and staging outstanding shows and he is now back home for the historic celebrations dubbed “40 Years of Tuku Music”. The superstar, Oliver Mtukudzi returned home on Tuesday after his performance in Australia and looks ahead to the gig to celebrate his 40 years in music that is set for Pakare Paye Arts Centre on Saturday.

An official from Tuku Music said the tour that saw the musician performing in South Africa, Kenya, United Kingdom and Australia over the past weeks had been successful.

Tuku, as the musician is popularly known, now awaits the celebratory gig that will feature many of his regional friends from the music sector and performances from Ringo Madlingozi, Jah Prayzah and Suluman Chimbetu among others.

After celebrating his success with fellow musicians, Tuku will embark on another international offensive that will see him staging shows in Mozambique, Malawi, Namibia and Botswana. The Saturday gig is the musician’s biggest show at his Pakare Paye Arts Centre before he goes international again.

One of the organisers Taka Mashonganyika said all is now in place for the show. The show is expected to attract hordes of fans from all over Zimbabwe who will be there to witness and help the man to celebrate the success of his works.

With 63 albums to his name, the musician has toured countries and has been endorsed by several companies as their brand ambassador. Apart from the music Tuku is also recognised as an entrepreneur who has managed to build a fashion label in clothing and shoes.
