Alick Macheso and Suluman Chimbetu’s joint operation ahead of their UK tours begins tonight with a show at New Life Nightclub in Budiriro. The musicians share the stage at the spacious venue in what is expected to be the best show in Harare this weekend. Organiser of the show, Fidelis Ngove, said they had made serious preparations for the show in anticipation of a great event.

“These are two big artistes and they have both performed at the venue separately. They know how to entertain their fans at this venue,” said Ngove.

“We have hosted big names in the industry at New Life and we know what it takes to bring two popular artistes together. It is not only about merrymaking but a lot of preparation to ensure that we serve our patrons well.

“We do not want anyone to be disappointed and we will complement the entertainment programme with good service throughout the night.”
Macheso and Chimbetu will tour the UK next month on separate occasions and tonight’s show is the first of their farewell shows this weekend.
Both artistes concurred it was good to have such shows ahead of important international assignments.

Chimbetu’s publicist Joe “Local” Nyamungoma said: “We are happy that we will be working with Macheso ahead of the tour.
“The shows will be exciting because we will both be putting our international acts in order. It is a good preparation and we are looking forward to it.”

“When soccer teams prepare for important assignments, they play friendly matches and we are taking this national tour as our friendly match ahead of the UK tour. I will be playing my new songs for UK fans for the first time and we will polish everything through our local shows,” said Macheso.

“This is a combination that has come a long way. It has been many months since we worked together and I am happy to be working with Sulu again. I take him as my son because we worked well with his father.”
Macheso and Chimbetu take their act to Club CSC in Chinhoyi tomorrow.
