There has been a positive response to Dendera musician Suluman Chimbetu’s “Just Singles” release that carries three songs from his upcoming album, with the track “Macamarada” leading in popularity.

The three songs that were released before Christmas are “Macamarada”, “Zororo” and “Open Your Heart” that was recorded in Australia.

“Macamarada” that reminds people of fallen heroes of the liberation struggle, has become a darling of many people.

On the songs, prolific guitarist Mono Mkundu and Mookomba’s Trust Samende played guitars in a different way.

The two gave a different sound to the usual Dendera songs.

Last week he performed the songs in Rusape at birthday celebrations for his long time friend Blessing Jecha and he passionately played “Marcamarada”, prompting music lovers to go on stage.

His publicist Joe Nyamungoma said they were surprised to see people singing along to the songs in Rusape.

“We were just surprised and I am happy that people do understand the concept. The songs were released as a Christmas present for our fans,” he said.

The musician said they have lined up several shows to promote the singles in and out of the capital.

The musician will be performing at Inner Café in the city tonight before taking his act to Manyame Night Club tomorrow.

Nyamungoma said people should expect fireworks as they were giving them the songs in style.

“We are doing it in a different way and people should just come and witness the guys playing,” he said.

They are also sampling a song called “Alice Arasa Mwana” from their forthcoming album to be released in April.

He said they wanted to give their fans their best and sampling the songs was a way of consulting them.

“We can’t do anything without our fans and by giving them the songs we are simply consulting them. When we get into the studio we take their suggestions,” he said.
