Sulu birthday celebrations continue Suluman Chimbetu

Suluman Chimbetu’s birthday celebrations continue tonight at Ice and Fire Pamuzinda.

The celebrations began on Wednesday when several musicians, promoters and music lover joined Suluman Chimbetu and his wife Linda at Private Lounge in the capital. Musicians including his cousin Tryson, man of the moment Jah Prayzah, Kireni Zulu, Peter Moyo, Afrika Revenge and First Farai graced the event. Promoters Biggie Chinoperekwei, Josh Hozheri and Patson Chimbodza were in attendance. The party continues throughout the weekend with a gig at Ice and Fire Pamuzinda tonight while tomorrow the musician performs at a charity dinner at Rainbow Towers before going to Marondera for another show.

Tonight’s show at Pamuzinda will be another big gig as it features Oliver Mtukudzi and Tocky Vibes. In Marondera Sulu will share the stage with Progress Chipfumo at Legends Bar.

Suluman thanked his wife and fellow musicians and promoters for taking their time to attend the official birthday party at Private Lounge.

Tryson staged a good show at the party and the other musicians joined Sulu on stage to cut the birthday cake and congratulate him for turning 33.

Sulu’s publicist Joe Nyamungoma said they were geared up for all the shows as the celebrations continue.

“Everything is now in place and we are grateful of what people have done to us. It is a great honour to share stage with Mtukudzi and Tocky Vibes here in Harare and Chipfumo in Marondera,” he said.

For him “the captain” as the musician is fondly known will be in full force as he celebrates another mile stone in his life.

The Rainbow Towers show is being organised by Zimbabwe National Army.

He also said the Commander ZNA Charities Ball is one of the initiatives meant to raise funds for the Zimbabwe National Army.

“There are five ZNA charities namely the ZNA Schools Welfare Trust Fund, the ZNA Patients Welfare Fund, Tsanga Lodge Convalescent Centre, the Army Widows and Orphans Benevolent Fund,” he said.

Other ZNA charities fundraising activities lined up for this year are the Charities Soccer Shield whose semi finals were held in March, the Commander ZNA Charities Golf Tournament and Dinner Dance to be held in Bulawayo in September and the Charities Horse Race to be held in October.
