Choral group Spirit Praise will be among several choral groups set to perform at the One Voice Concert scheduled for the Harare International Conference Centre on September 30.

Some of the groups expected to perform at the choral group’s musical fiesta include Faith Ministries Worship, Zaoga Braeside Choir, Flaming Word Praise Team, Goodness and Mercy Worship Team, UFIC choir, Africa Praise and KPM Choir among others.

The group has since released singles that are doing well on the gospel charts. Learnmore Tavengwa who is the director of the choral group said they were happy to be part of this year’s event. “As Spirit Praise we are happy to be having our time there. It is a great honour to be part of the historic event,” he said.

The group has two albums “Vatatu Mumwechete” and “Nguva Yatokwana”. Tavengwa said the event will afford them an opportunity to grow its brand.

“Different members have composed the songs. We have realised that within the group we have talented vocalists and we will give them an equal platform to shine,” he said.

To spice up the event gospel musicians Mechanic Manyeruke, Zexie Manatsa, Vabati Vajehova, Vabvuwi Cranborne United Methodist and Pastor Haisa are also expected to perform.

Tavengwa who is part of the organisers of the concert said the decision to include other gospel greats was meant to spice up the event. “This is just to spice up the event we added the gospel greats and they have all confirmed their participation on the day,” he said.

“We are making it an annual event. I hope people will understand the concept as we move. For this second edition we hope all will go according to the plan,” he said.

Now running in its second year, the One Voice Concert has managed to nurture and promote growth among choral groups.
